Guide course – Rafting in Sjoa

Heidal Rafting offers guide courses in rafting. You will get 4 full days of intense activity, in which you will learn to master the river. Our rafting course is of high quality and is suitable both for people who are considering becoming a professional rafting guide and those who simply want to have a week of wet experiences. After each guide course, we typically offer to a few of the participants to become training guides for us. We are always on the lookout for new guide talents, so this is your chance.
The course consists of the following: Mix of practical exercises and theory, with a heavy focus on practice. We talk about how water behaves, what rafting moments and obstacles there may be in the river, and how we manoeuvre the boat to fare safely in between those. We talk about how several boats secure each other, communication on the river and practical matters concerning the handling/rigging of the equipment. After our rafting course, you will have a great basis for a start as a training guide for us or another company. Contact us for details.
Equipment necessary for our guide course
Equipment: Heidal Rafting provides the wetsuit, wet jacket, water shoes, helmet and life jacket. Bring super-underwear/woollen underwear and wool socks for cold days. Of course, you are welcome to use your own equipment. Accommodation/meals: Accommodation in a room with bathroom in our Sjoa Guesthouse, breakfast, warm lunch and dinner every day of the course.
Price: kr NOK 7990 per person
Upon inquiry, the guide course is also arranged at different times, for example for other rafting organizers, companies, groups of friends and organisations.

YOU SHOULD BRING
Two pairs of wool or super-underwear to wear underneath the wetsuit on cool days. Wool socks, towel and toiletry bag.
